Fiber Art Dressed up the NeoCon Showroom

With inspiration from our ColorEvolution and SCAD fiber art projects, we worked with architecture and industrial design students from DePaul University and University of Illinois at Chicago to “yarn bomb” our showroom. The beautiful yarn types and colors bring a crafted feel to the space with explosions of color.

Celebrate International Yarn Bombing Day!

In celebration of International Yarn Bombing Day, fiber art will be celebrated around the world tomorrow.  Its apropo that as people across the globe to attempt a yarn bomb on the same day, Shaw Contract Group will be completing its own yarn bombing experience in its Chicago showroom.  The installation will be completed by local students and provides an artistic expression of the beauty and texture found in the natural dye process, which is an inspiration for two new Shaw Contract Group collections launching at NeoCon next week.

Shaw Contract Group initially featured yarn bombing in its ColorEvolution trend forecast, drawn to the explosions of color and crafted feel people brought to the streets through this medium.

Visit Shaw Contract Group at the Chicago Merchandise Mart, floor 10, space 167  to experience yarn bombing at NeoCon 2012.
